Brussels, 14 June 2024 - EuropaBio is pleased to announce that Prague.bio has joined as a representative of biotechnology innovation within the Czech Republic.

Based in Prague, Prague.bio was founded in 2023 with the vision to integrate R&D, innovation, business, and policy-making activities in the field of biotech in the city of Prague and the broader region.

Prague.bio aims to connect all parts of their local biotech sector, while supporting its visibility and helping to connect it internationally within central Europe and beyond. Prague.bio is the growing centre for the Czech biotechnology industry.

By joining EuropaBio, Prague.bio hopes to broaden the possibilities of companies within Central Europe, connecting sector stakeholders across the whole of the European landscape.

With this addition, EuropaBio now celebrates 24 members within its National Associations Council, helping to interconnect the European biotechnology sector more extensively and amplifying the voice of biotechnology across regions up to EU and global levels.

Dr. Claire Skentelbery, Director General of EuropaBio commented “We are delighted that Prague.bio has become part of the EuropaBio community. Biotechnology in Europe is transformative for economies and the Czech Republic has a significant future through its innovation and industrial base”.

Petra Kinzlova, CEO of Prague.bio added: "Although Prague.bio is based in Prague, the world of biotech knows no borders. We therefore want to cooperate across countries, and membership in EuropaBio is an important gateway to our European colleagues.”
